Visiting Yoyogi Park today

  • What it is: A large city park beside Harajuku and Meiji Jingu. At weekends it fills with picnickers, buskers, dance groups and the long-running rockabilly dancers.
  • Getting there: 3 minutes' walk from JR Harajuku Station (Omotesando exit) to the Harajuku Gate, or 3 minutes from Yoyogi-Koen Station (Chiyoda Line).
  • Hours: Open at all times.
  • Admission: Free.
  • Tip: The rockabilly group usually dances on Sunday afternoons from about 13:00, near the clock tower. The central fountain area has been under works since October 2024, due to finish around autumn 2026.
