Nonbei Yokocho のんべい横丁
Visiting Nonbei Yokocho today
- What it is: A postwar alley of tiny bars and eateries dating from the early 1950s, with about 39 businesses. Some counters seat only four or five people.
- Getting there: Beside the JR tracks on the north side of Shibuya Station, close to Miyashita Park.
- Hours: There are no alley-wide hours; each bar sets its own and some close on irregular days.
- Tip: Go as one or two people, and ask about any seating charge before sitting down. Carry cash, ask before taking photos, and do not go in only to take pictures.
