  • What it is: A large Japanese garden built by the silk merchant Hara Sankei. Historic buildings moved here from Kyoto, Kamakura and elsewhere stand around its ponds, including a three-storey pagoda.
  • Getting there: Take city bus 8 or 148 from Yokohama Station's East Exit (platform 2) to Honmoku Sankeien-mae, then walk about 5 minutes.
  • Hours: 9:00–17:00 (last entry 16:30). Closed December 26–31.
  • Admission: Adults (high school and up) ¥900; children ¥200.
  • Tip: Allow at least two hours. The inner garden with the historic buildings is often skipped but is the highlight.
