Yokohama Chinatown 横浜中華街
Visiting Yokohama Chinatown today
- What it is: Japan's largest Chinatown, with more than 600 shops and restaurants packed inside ornate gates. At its centre is the colourful Kanteibyo temple.
- Getting there: It is right by Motomachi-Chukagai Station (Minatomirai Line) and a short walk from Ishikawacho Station (JR Negishi Line).
- Hours: The streets are open at all times. Shop and restaurant hours vary.
- Admission: Free.
- Tip: Snack on steamed buns from street stalls instead of a long sit-down meal. Yamashita Park and the waterfront are a few minutes' walk away.
