  • What it is: An 18-hole golf course on the Asagiri Plateau at the foot of Mt Fuji (朝霧カントリークラブ). The club says Mt Fuji can be seen from all 18 holes. It describes the course as fairly flat, with about 30 m of height difference, at 971 m above sea level, with holes separated by evergreen trees.
  • Course: 6,863 yards, par 72, from the club's course page. It credits the layout to Tomizawa Seizo.
  • Getting there: By car about 90 minutes from Tokyo via the Chuo Expressway and Kawaguchiko IC (129 km), or about 110 minutes via the Tomei Expressway and Route 139. By train, a taxi from Shin-Fuji Station takes about 50 minutes (roughly ¥10,000), or about 40 minutes from Kawaguchiko Station (roughly ¥9,000).
  • Tip: Reservations are made through the club's website. The club also has a restaurant and a hotel.
