Tokyo Skytree スカイツリー
Visiting Tokyo Skytree today
- What it is: A 634 m broadcasting tower in Sumida, with the Tembo Deck at 350 m and the Tembo Galleria at about 450 m. The shopping mall at its base, Tokyo Solamachi, is free to enter.
- Getting there: Tokyo Skytree Station (Tobu Skytree Line) or Oshiage Station (Hanzomon and Asakusa lines), each about 2 minutes on foot. Asakusa is about 15 minutes' walk.
- Admission: Same-day weekday tickets are ¥2,400 for adults for the Tembo Deck, or ¥3,500 for both decks (January 2026 prices). Weekends and holidays cost more; advance timed tickets online are cheaper.
- Hours: 10:00-22:00 on weekdays and 9:00-22:00 at weekends and on holidays, with last entry at 21:00. Open all year.
- Then and now: When this photo was taken from Roppongi Hills in 2011, the tower was still being built. It opened on 22 May 2012, rising to 634 m.
