Tokyo Midtown and Hinokicho Park 東京ミッドタウン
Visiting Tokyo Midtown and Hinokicho Park today
- What it is: An office, shopping and hotel complex that opened in March 2007 on the former Japan Defense Agency site. Its lawns join Hinokicho Park, a public park on the site of an old feudal lord's garden.
- Getting there: Roppongi Station Exit 8 on the Toei Oedo Line connects directly, and the Hibiya Line links by underground passage. Nogizaka Station Exit 3 on the Chiyoda Line is about 3 minutes' walk.
- Hours: Shops 11:00-20:00, cafes 11:00-21:00, restaurants and bars 11:00-23:00, varying by tenant. Closed on 1 January.
- Best time: Cherry blossom season, mid-March to early April. Sakura Street has over 100 trees, Hinokicho Park has 40, and they are lit up in the evening at full bloom.
