Shibuya Sakura Stage 渋谷サクラステージ
Visiting Shibuya Sakura Stage today
- What it is: A large new district on the Sakuragaoka side of Shibuya Station, completed on 30 November 2023, with most shops open by July 2024. The SHIBUYA side has towers of about 179 m and 90 m and the SAKURA side one of about 127 m. Together they hold offices, homes, the Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya hotel, a university campus and more than 100 shops and restaurants on the lower floors.
- What to see: Shibu S, a pink mirrored "S" sculpture, stands in Nigiwai Stage, the central plaza between the two sides. Hagukumi Stage is an outdoor park with real soil, fruit trees, a vegetable garden and a large yamazakura (mountain cherry) as its symbol tree. Inside, BLOOM GATE on the SHIBUYA side 3F is an event space with a 4.5 × 8.13 m LED screen.
- Getting there: Next to Shibuya Station. A 2F deck joins the station's west exit footbridge, and a 3F passage leads across to the Shibuya Stream side. The official access page has step-by-step routes from the JR, Tokyu, Hanzomon, Fukutoshin, Ginza and Inokashira lines.
- Hours: Each shop sets its own hours. For example, TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE (SHIBUYA side 4F) is open 8:00–23:00 and Starbucks (SHIBUYA side 3F) 7:00–22:00.
- Tip: Shibuya Street Live performances are held on many evenings in Sakuragaoka Square (SHIBUYA side 2F). Check the official events page for dates.
