I recently visited the English themed restaurant and surrounds called Dreamton Village by its owner, in Kameoka, Kyoto. A lot of work and thought has gone into creating British style architecture and atmosphere in this area of the mountains, with the owner having plans to expand the facility further.

I had lunch in the restaurant Pont Oak and took a few photos of the surrounding buildings. At first glance, it is hard to believe these buildings are standing in the mountainous areas of Japan.

It is a little bit of a drive up the mountain roads to get here, but an interesting and enjoyable site to visit. The mountain drive was a nice break on a hot day as well.
Very beautiful. Doesn’t look like it’s in Japan – and that’s what I like the most about cities like Kobe where you run into these kind of buildings and restaurants a lot! 🙂
British…except the spelling of “Centre”.
Hah British Store.
