I traveled to Shikoku recently, catching the Shinkansen to Okayama and then the train to Takamatsu, crossing the Seto Ohashi Bridge. This is a stunning set of bridges that links Honshu to Shikoku. There are 2 other bridge routes to Shikoku, but this is the only one that trains go across. The view from Washuzan looking over the bridge was fantastic.
The view of multiple bridge structures of the Seto OhashiThe view from Washuzan looking over the Seto Ohashi bridge was fantasticThe lookout point started here and then headed further up the hill on a winding trackSome of the small islands in the bay looked great. I felt like I was somewhere like HawaiiI would like to have come back at sunset to capture the sun setting, but the view was still good at this time of day, around 2pmSo much greenery around and the beautiful expanse of water. With Autumn Koyo season coming up, I bet the view gets better and betterIt is hard to know what to look at. The water, the islands, the greenery or the bridgeThe view beyond the bridge stretches a long wayLovely colors which will only get better as Autumn turns the trees a reddish brownA ship passes by on the calm SetonaikaiTaking a break here as I walk up to the top pointOne of the pathways on the road to the top lookout pointI like the curving roadway in the bottom left of this photoThere are a few tablets around with words of wisdomGetting a close up of the bridgeThe train from Okayama to Takamatsu runs on the bottom section of this bridge, while cars go along the topBit of experimentation here. Maybe would work better if the tree turned red, and I pulled the focus back a bitGreat to see so many ships passing under the bridge. Makes for a nice persepctiveAlmost at the top lookout nowThis is really getting relaxing nowThe islands beyond the bridge have a nice shape to themThe view was magnificent from the top of Washuzan looking out over the Seto Ohashi Bridges. This guy had the best spot perched on the very top. Seems like he was contemplating something as he looked out.My little bit of Koyo feel on the bottom rightPeering through the trees at the top of the lookoutMountains, Islands, OceanThink I will just sit here for a bit and enjoyFind a friendly rock and take out a picnic

The spot is really inspiring, full flavour. I can’t imagine how beautiful it must be to live in the area, for kids to go to some island and have fun in the hot afternoons in the water, with barbecues in the evenings… Movie like.

would it be better to alight after crossing the seto bridge i.e utazu instead of taking the train all the way to takamatsu?
