A summer cold always feels harder to get rid of than a cold in winter. I got a sort throat the other day and then with the temperature shooting up to 39c decided it best to go to the night clinic at the hospital and get some meds.
The attending Doctor was very nice and I felt immediately at rest since she had a small Rilakkuma bear dangling from her stethoscope.
We ran some tests for throat infections, which involved swabbing the back of the throat, not nice, and then checking for Swine Flu. requiring a swab stuck up my nose and pushed hard, very uncomfortable. If the Doc hadn’t been sporting a Rilakkuma I might have thought she was enjoying the torture treatment.
I wasn’t game to ask the Doc for a photograph with Rilakkuma so you will have to just imagine it.
Turns out, I didn’t have Swine Flu, (新型インフレンザ) which was good news and after receiving some meds to bring the temperature down I went back home.
Still not feeling 100%, but have got some extra supplies to comfort me as I try to get back to normal. Meds from hospital were only to be used if temp was above 38.5c so I went to the chemist to get something for small temps. Currently moving between 36.8 and 37.2c so feeling a lot better, just need to get rid of the cough and headache.
For those interested, I put up a Rilakkuma Fan Club catalog book on FluterScape recently. They will send overseas if you want to get this.

Summertime colds always for me seem to be a real nuisance. The symptoms are the same as a wintertime one but just seems harder to get rid of. At least you’ve a cuuple of good pals to keep you company and look after you. Rilakkuma always seems to like the masks, and now you’ve got Jiji to check your temp. Maybe you should try the old standby Chicken Noodle Soup, always works for me. A little shake of black pepper on top, I like mne w/saltines also. It then makes me sweat and then I start to feel better.
Btw, funny picture of you in the mask w/urinals in the background lol 🙂
Rilakkuma is so kawaii ~ Get well soon!
Thanks. I am almost better 🙂
