Had some major site traffic over the last 2 days thanks to everyone for checking out the Gundam Wedding Photos. Much appreciate all of you who have re-tweeted, emailed to friends, stumbled the photos and various other social networking things.
I have moved from a shared hosting service with bluehost to a dedicated one now with peer1. I think you will notice the improvement in site speed. Given that only about 1 in 10 requests were returning pages before, this should be a big improvement.
Sorry to all those who tried and couldn’t access the pages. Now is your chance to go wild and check things out.
Having a slight issue with a few minor things on new site. Will have everything ironed out over weekend. At the moment, thumbnails are not showing for photos, but the main photos themselves should all be showing.
Thanks again. It has been a crazy 2 days but now we should be set for the next 2 years worth of growth on shibuya246.
I will be doing a review of the site again at the end of this month and talk about plans for the future. Thanks again to all who showed support over the last few days and of course those who visit everyday. It is always great to share life in Japan and talk with you all.

My comment must have gotten lost. I know I posted one.
Glad to see you got everything back up and running. It just goes to show, that when you have a great site that you do, and the wonderful photos that you take, is a tremoundous reflection of the dedicated site you offer. Ganbaette! i will always comment on your posts.
Thanks as always. Great to have your daily comments. I really enjoyed taking and presenting the photos so its wonderful to have lots of people looking at them. ๐
Great to see that your site is up again. Do look forward to your long term plans for this site.
Thanks. I was relieved to see it get back and running. once i have the thumbnails back in i will feel its close to smooth running.
Hrm… I use BlueHost to host my website as well. Is it not able to handle heavy traffic? (Not that I expect your kind of traffic anytime soon, but still…)
For about 1,000 – 2,000 page views a day it is ok, but if you get over 10,000 a day you might start having problems. My site got ‘throttled back’ by bluehost automatically which meant it was taking up too much bandwidth/CPU power.
Being ‘Throttled back’ means people arent going to be able to access your site very easily since your bandwidth is reduced.
I changed to a dedicated server and am now enjoying much faster and trouble free access. Downside is cost and also have to run the server myself now.
Thanks ๐
