Visiting Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route today

  • What it is: A mountain route through the Northern Alps by cable car, buses and ropeway, linking Tateyama in Toyama with Ogizawa in Nagano via Murodo and Kurobe Dam.
  • Getting there: Toyama Chiho Railway from Dentetsu-Toyama to Tateyama Station, or from the Nagano side by bus to Ogizawa.
  • Hours: 2026 season opened 15 April and runs to the end of November, with shorter schedules from 4 November.
  • Admission: Tateyama to Ogizawa one way ¥10,940 adults, ¥5,480 children.
  • Tip: Send big luggage ahead with the route's forwarding service. The snow wall walk at Murodo runs from mid April to late June.
