Visiting Kokusai-dori today

  • What it is: Naha's 1.6 km main street of souvenir shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Covered arcades lead off it to the Makishi Public Market.
  • Getting there: Yui Rail to Kenchomae Station (about 2 minutes' walk to the west end) or Makishi Station (east end).
  • Hours: Street open at all times; most shops open from late morning until late evening.
  • Admission: Free.
  • Tip: Head into the Heiwa-dori and Ichiba-hondori arcades, where you can buy fish at the market and have it cooked upstairs.
