Kinosaki Onsen 城崎温泉
Visiting Kinosaki Onsen today
- What it is: A willow-lined canal town on the Sea of Japan side of Hyogo, where guests stroll in yukata between seven public bathhouses (sotoyu).
- Getting there: Direct limited express trains run from Kyoto and Osaka to JR Kinosaki Onsen Station. All seven baths are within walking distance of the station.
- Hours: Each bath keeps its own hours and closing day. For example, Ichi no Yu is open 7:00–23:00 (last entry 22:30) and closes on Wednesdays.
- Admission: Yumepa one-day pass for all the outdoor baths ¥1,500 adults, ¥750 children. Single entry to Ichi no Yu ¥800.
- Tip: Most inns give guests a free bath pass. Winter is crab season, but the town is busiest then, so book early.
