Visiting Sapporo Snow Festival today

  • What it is: A winter festival of large snow and ice sculptures across central Sapporo. The 2026 (76th) festival ran 4–11 February at Odori Park, Susukino and Tsudome.
  • When: The 77th festival is set for 4–11 February 2027 at all three venues.
  • Where: Odori Park (West 1–11 chome), the Susukino ice sculpture street (South 4–7), and the Tsudome sports facility for snow slides and family play.
  • Watching: The outdoor sculptures can be viewed freely; some attractions such as the skating rink charge. Odori Park sculptures are lit until 22:00.
  • Tip: Book hotels months ahead. Wear boots with good grip, as pavements become icy.
