Kyoto is a great place to walk since the center of town is quite flat, the roads are built on a grid system which makes navigating easy and the road surfaces are good underfoot. As you get into the surrounding areas such as here near Kiyomizudera, the inclines are not too steep and the walk is relaxing.
Sometimes it is nice just to get out and enjoy the walk.
I adore that part of Kyoto. I think it’s time for another visit!
Beautiful photo!
I’ve been there several times already.
On the right side of the photo I even can see the studio where I did a Maiko Dress-up! It was awesome! Highly recommended!
Wonderful Kyoto, I will go there soon.. http://www.lakbayonline.com
ahh HDR…
Beautiful!
Lovely pictures! So suggestive. This foto in particular was a great inspiration for me. I am building a 1:20 scale ryokan “dollshouse” and the bamboo blinds on the terraces were such a perfect detail that I am adding them to my dollhouse. They give such a sense of simple tranquility.
Great to here. Those blinds are often used to block the midday sun and keep things a bit cooler indoors
I’ve completed the first two (of eight). I think they bring a nice feeling to my ryokan! http://japanesedollshouse.blogspot.it/2012/10/intermediate-work-bamboo-shades-iris.html Thanks for the inspiration!
That looks fantastic. Wonderful detail
