Ponyo Karuta Cards on Amazon Japan
This year Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea was released by Ghibli Studio. It received a variety of critique but overall fans flocked to view the movie and purchase Ponyo goods. Ponyo was cool.
So I was not surprised to find that available on Amazon Japan this year are Ponyo Karuta. Karuta are cards that are traditionally played on New Year’s Day. Karuta (a borrowed word from the Portuguese, carta) is a card game in which the players try to grab the card before the opponent grabs them. Any type of character cards can be used to play the concept game.
This set of Karuta are really cute with Ponyo faces on them.
