Gundam, Odaiba

As the sun sets, Gundam awakes
A Beautiful Sunset as the backdrop for Gundam to begin to stir and notice the crowd that has gathered
The blue sky highlights Gundam's blue body armour
Stepping out of the full sunshine. Looks like an explosion has gone off in the background
Steam starts to come out of the vents. Action is imminent. Stand back please
Gundam steps out of the fireball behind him to take on the next battle
You don't want to mess with this hand. It looks like it has quite a bit of strength in those metal claws
More great body armour here. 'Critical Bolt Torque See Maintenance Manual'
Those jet engines will make for a quick getaway if the crowd turn into an angry mob
Showing off some Shoulder Armor. 'SCV-70 White Base'
As the steam starts to come out of his body armor, the head of Gundam tilts back
More firey skies for Gundam as he stalks the night
The mid-drift section of armor. Very colorful and drafty with those steam vents
Gundam steps out and almost treads on us
The bright orange sky gives a sense of foreboding
One glare from the eyes almost knocks us down
Closeup of some body armor. Lots of Warning and Caution signs here. Careful what you touch
Is there someone inside this suit of armor?
Back in the daytime with no-one about, Gundam contemplates scaling the Odaiba Nikko hotel
Earth Federation Space Force EFSF
Through the haze and the clouds, Gundam approaches
Gundam's head turns to take a closer look at the crowd assembled before him. Are their intentions friendly?
Towering above the buildings, the sky alone is on Gundam's eyeline
'Only Qualified Pesonnel Are Authorized to Service' on this hand
We almost catch a wink from Gundam as we sneak a close-up of his helmet
We approach Gundam from below his line of sight, hoping to gain the advantage
DANGER, Fast Moving Door. Not a good idea to hang about near this
A few people risking being trodden on by Gundam here as they take a photo of his boots
The sky turns a deep orange and Gundam's eyes flash red
More wonderful engineering in this armor
A green tinge to the armor given off by the Odaiba lighting
Catching a glimpse over the tree tops we can see the jet rockets ready for take-off
A close examination of the jet power pack shows no problem for flight later this evening
The crowd marvel at the structure from below
Gundam stands resolute, strong as ever
One last one (tried loading this one from my Flickr account, strange how my photo is 80k compressed, flickr make it 280k)

This is my first set of photos I took where I didn’t crop or change anything in the photos at all. What you see above is straight out of the camera.

Which is your favorite Gundam photo from above. Please tell me in the comments which one you like and why you liked it.

Well done. I dont know why but i just cant get enough of the oda78 pictures. I reckon they should even dismantle the tokyo tower and turn 'em into a massive gundam diorama. The giant metal tower thing is so 1990's. 😛

    • shibuya246

Maybe Gundam could attack Tokyo Tower and then stand in its place xD

  • shibuya246

Pleased to hear you like them. I hope Gundam stays around for a while. His location is really good 🙂

My cousin had the chance to see it in odaiba!!

Hopefully, they will move the Gundam to a place where more people can continue to see it for a long time.

Amazing shots. To be able to take a shot that close, which lens did you use ? 200 mm ? 300 mm?

    • shibuya246

Thanks. I had a 70-300 mm lens in use. mainly the 300mm end of the lens was getting most use 🙂
