This CM came out a while ago, but its really nice to see this compilation showing names of places in Tohoku, as a genki call to them to recover from a tough year.

Fune no Kagakukan

Mockmoon often has some great timelapse and/or tilt shift videos. This one takes a vantage point at the Fune no Kagakukan (船の科学館), Museum of Maritime Science.

Relaxing Drive

There are many great videos of Highway driving in Tokyo which remind you of Ridge Racer. Here is a nice peaceful drive in the countryside at dusk which reminds of heading out to golf in the evening to be ready early for the next days play.

It also reminds me I need to get the video camera out and do some driving.

Tokyo Bike Rental

The camera is a bit bumpy as it sits atop the bicycle ride from Daikanyama to Shibuya in this video from TokyoRentaBike, but the scenery is enjoyable to watch on the short ride.

If you are in Tokyo for a short trip why not rent a bicycle and enjoy the city from a new perspective.

If its a nice day, there is no better way to see Tokyo than by bicycle! You’ll be outside, able to see and stop at more places and be getting excercise. Everyone rides bikes in Tokyo – and its safe and easy to get around. It’s common to ride on the sidewalks, so you don’t have to worry about cars or traffic.

You can ride from Nakameguro to Daikanyama in just 10 minutes. To Shibuya it is only about 20 minutes. TokyoRentabike has rental bicycles for only 900 yen (about 10 dollars) for the whole day.

Miniature City

Some great scenery here captured by mockmoon of central Tokyo that is both scaled down to miniature size using tilt shift camera techniques and then also sped up for your enjoyment.

Great shots and great editing.

Looks like some of these segments were used for a Google Maps promotion.

Sea Aquariums in Japan are very popular. They can be a peaceful place to go and watch the beauty of the sea, when at times in the city you can feel a long way from nature surroundings.

The location filmed in this video is Okinawa at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium

The main tank called the ‘Kuroshio Sea’ holds 7,500-cubic meters (1,981,290 gallons) of water and features the world’s second largest acrylic glass panel, measuring 8.2 meters by 22.5 meters with a thickness of 60 centimeters. Whale sharks and manta rays are kept amongst many other fish species in the main tank.

One thing I really liked to see here was the Band, Barcelona, left a video message saying they appreciated the use of their song and were pleased to see so many people enjoying the video. It is great to see this win-win relationship between bloggers and artists working.

I have always been interested in the Japan and Hawaii connection. Hawaii is such a beautiful place to visit and has a fascinating history. This video talks about how history could have been so very different for the two countries.

In 1880, Hawaii King David Kalakaua visited Emperor Meiji of Japan. He proposed an alliance, sealed with the proposed marriage of Princess Kaiulani to Prince Komatsu Akihito. They declined. But if it had happened, would Japan have attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, when members of the Imperial Family were part Hawaiian? It’s possible the US might never have entered World War II. I visit Hawaii about twice a year and enjoy the tropical environment in a friendly and safe place that has a mix of many cultures including Japanese.

This is one of my favorite Tokyo timelapse videos. You often see videos with a music overlay. This timelapse video has the natural sounds of the street blended in. The announcements at the train station are particular dramatic for the shoot.
