Capturing a few cars and lights at night

I took a test photo with my camera to see what could be achieved before heading down to the highway and catching some better scenery. Now that it the air is colder at night, the street lights seem to shine brighter and images are clear. This is one of the photos I took.

I will head down to the highway in the next few days and capture some images.

The old route through the Ginza to the left, but today we tried the new C2 road

On the way back from golf the other day, we drove through the Yamate Tunnel which currently runs from Ikebukuro through Shinjuku, and will eventually come out near Shibuya at Ohashi Junction.

Watch out for guys dressed in green running across the road !

this time we are being told about a traffic jam up at ahead

the descent into the tunnel. We have a green light for go

time to to put the lights on and hit the Yamate Tunnel for 5800 metres

There is good lighting when you first hit the tunnel to help adjust your eyes

As we get further in, the walls rush by in a blur

You can make out another light patch ahead

not sure why the lights were brighter here, but wasnt getting out to check

after some underground tunneling we finally hit the traffic jam at an exit ramp

we surface a bit further along the route near Opera City, Hatsudai

friendly sign telling us of a sudden curve that requires us to slow down

as we turn off Inokashira-dori and onto Yamate dori, here are the exhaust towers that are being built along the latest part of the tunnel route

Whilst we are driving above ground here, when the Ohashi Junction section is finished, you will be able to not get off at Hatsudai but keep underground and travel all the way close to Shibuya.

The section of the road to be built after that should take you down past Shinagawa, to the Oi Junction and then onto Haneda Airport or Yokohama.

Compared to the photos I took from the air, these towers look even bigger on the ground

more smoke stacks. wonder what the residents of the adjacent buildings think?

Finally we come along Route 246 to Shibuya
