Eiheiji Temple

Eiheiji Temple, located in Fukui-ken, was founded over 800 years ago, although the temple was rebuilt a number of times over the years. It is still an active temple today training monks in its teachings. It is possible for anyone to stay at the temple overnight and join in the routine and lessons of the monks.

  1. These pictures are amazing. Absolutely love them. Especially #4. It looks as if the statue is floating above the moss. That’s put a smile on my face. Cheers.
