Should be interesting to see how it turns outThere are many of these winding streets around the station, all packed with storesStanding bar on a popular street cornerInteresting mural covering the railway tracks aboveSo many people moving through the narrow streets makes for a good atmosphereI wonder if the Beatles came through this way?Plenty of really nice shops in this area, with architectural charmPart of the local matsuri that was going on the weekend I visitedThe omikoshi gets carried through the narrow streetsTasty okonomiyaki available hereEnjoy your lunch hereWalking the streetsThe kids lending a hand to carry the omikoshiNice to see a mister dount still going strongLots of boutique shops in this areaLots of store signs, lots of people
Every store seemed to be teeming with peopleNo shortage of food stalls aroundA little taste of Hawaii in ShimokitazawaGood bread and nice cafe on the second floorPlenty of character hereThe signboards outside the stores are quite a feature of the areaGood style to this cafe on the first floor of a normal mansion buildingTime out hereKita shokuInteresting restaurant set up hereThe streets are normally crowded on weekends at ShimokitazawaSmall shrine in the busy street areaCold drinks on a hot dayLooking out where the Odakyu line crosses the Inokashira lineDown on the platform for the Odakyu Line
Great pics! I love areas like this as it gives a feel for the real day to day life in Japan. I stayed in Nezu mostly on my last trip and really wandered the neighborhood. Even got to enjoy the festival at Nezu Shrine which was awesome.
