I went out to Chiba at the end of last week to play golf and snapped a few interesting items in the local Chiba convenience stores. Many items are the same as central Tokyo, but a few caught my eye that I hand’t seen before.

Found these Chiba-kun keyrings when I was out at a convenience store in Chiba before playing golf. hi Chiba-kun!

There are a few dried fruit products appearing on the shelves recently. Spring must mean fruits I suppose, which is why they are taking the place of the throat sweets we dont need now winter is almost gone.

I was surprised to see a Subway inside this Family Mart store. Maybe they are going to team up with more mixed food/brand ideas. Near my house there is a Tullys inside a Family Mart store as well.

Tough nandog; sounds/looks like hotdog; can it be heated or eaten cold ?

I love combini Mondays! I’ll be in Tokyo in less than 3 weeks and plan on raiding some stores. Are there any particular stores that you frequent that you would recommend for someone wanting to see as much as possible? I’m assuming they will be in Shibuya.LOL

Mainly Shibuya. Most of my photos come from Lawson, Family Mart, 7 Eleven and AM PM, although there are other convenience chain stores. Hope you enjoy your visit.

The edamame sembei are really good as are the fuwa fuwa cakes. I love the one with white beans in it (which I reviewed some time ago, but isn’t in shops right now). The chocolate one was also good!

Conbini Monday Wk48, Japan Conbini Monday http://bit.ly/9qZm8W Another superb Conbini Monday article. Was having trouble with the tweet meme this morning. Couldn”t get back in till just now. It’s great to see more and more folks commenting on your posts. Always a great way to start off the week. Here in the states our 7-11’s don’t have another company selling food w/in them. They stay w/theire own brand of hot food. Subways and McDonalds can be found in alot of the Walmart stores, though. The one they had in the 1 I worked in the food started tasting like Bleh. The new promotion for the 7-11″s here is for the new Iron Man movie. Will be in their drink section. Not all of them advertise the same way. I found out about this from the 7-11 web site.. Hopefully they will do this better than they did for the Domo-kum promotion. They never had the straws that went w/the cups. so much for my 2 cents over here. everything in todays feature is really yummy looking.
Good to see Rilakkuma back at the point of sale for Lawson
Btw how was your B-Day? Hope it was good and relaxing. Did your family call and wish you happy B-Day? And what did you get, besides the cake?

Btw, went to the 7-11 down the road today to check on the Iron Man Movie cups. First of all all the had were the Big Gulp cups, nothing smaller. There was an empty display and a smaller box to hold the straws that go w/the cups empty also. When I asked the clerks about it, it seems they didn’t have a clue what I was talking about. I just left disgusted. The straws were supposed to have figurines attached to them.

Some of those look tasty, unfortunately not all these products get here. I have to check special stores and even if I do, I know they won’t have them, I should consider myself lucky just to get my hands on some Pocky!

Happy Birthday! I agree all the cakes look “delish”. My eye also caught sight of the bag of Milky caramel. I hope our Japanese store called Maruta will carry it. Will have to look on my next visit.

Mondays always make me hungry. lol Ate the batch you sent some of us and a little different from what I’m used to but still excellent. I wasn’t sure if those green things were green bean chips but they were delicious.
