very true. People's first impression of Japan is Narita, and you don't get a second chance to make a first impression. Maybe in the future it will be Haneda and Tokyo.

Technically Narita will be your first stop *lol* . J/K Anyway - Figures in Shibuya ? Not so much. Best places for that are Akiba, Nakano and Ikebukuro. However there's a really cool Mandarake in Shibuya in the BEAM building at the end of center gai; across K-books and some live venue. The cool part about it is that it's quite in the basement of the BEAM building. A few years ago you used to go down some shady looking stairs for several levels untill you reached it. Adding to the atmosphere. Now you only have an elevator.

Figure and model wise, this Mandarake focusses on the OLD stuff. Think 80's mecha (original Macross, Votoms, SPT Layzner, Dougram) and Kaiju stuff (Godzilla, Ultraman) but also 80's transformers. They do have up to date Doujinshi, and a lot of soundtracks (old and new) and offcourse junk bins. Also a speciality of this mandarake is cosplayers singing anime theme songs live for you to enjoy. The neat thing about it is you can find alot of cool (older) goodies here (i.e you wont find anything made by Good smile, Kotobukiya etc.) , it's truly like a treasure hunt like experience. But if you want the modern figures/moe stuff; best not bother here.

I agree w/Neksus, You should have been hired to take the photos. :) with so many stores in the area, especially Tokyu Hands, you could shop fore ever and not get bored. Is there any figure shops in that area? cause it looks like you've got everything else covered.
Don't know if I'll make it, maybe some day. And The Shibuya area will be my 1st stop. :)
