Matsumoto Kiyoshi and Lawson to make new stores together

Lawson convenience stores and Matsumoto Kiyoshi drug retailers have announced a tie-up to jointly make new stores selling both daily conveniences and over the counter medicines, as well as working on co-branded private label goods.

With the change of law this year in June having seen a number of convenience stores start to sell medicines, consumer can expect to see more joint collaborations as the two business sectors merge together to form a new style of convenience drugstore.

Expect to see the first lot of stores from Lawson / Matsumoto Kiyoshi being introduced in Spring next year.
